Tell me a secret......errr, it's all over folks

30 days, 136 secrets later and we're all done folks. Thanks to everyone who delved deep, or not so deep, and shared something. The point of these projects isn't just the physical act of taking part though, it's what people take away from it. MICA projects encourage people to stop, think for a second and just reflect. That might be a momentary thing that has no impact on your life or it could be that same momentary thing that changes your world (or maybe just something in between). That insight might come immediately, a year later, or maybe not all. There's no right or wrong outcome, it just is what it is.

My secret is I was really scared of doing this project; that I would turn up and no one would have shared, that it would be vandalised, or a Twitter outbreak would cry foul at the nasty man bullying poor people to tell him their secrets. Booo...hisss!! Well panic over, like many of our secrets the reality is never what we create in our heads. Someone said to me recently that we are only as sick as our secrets so I for one plan on being a bit more open in future. Most of my secrets won't even get created in the first place that way.

Big thanks as ever to Penny at Seven for giving me her notice board for a month and to Darren Scotland of Character Creative for the great design work.

Till next time and here are some of the last few secrets...

Tell me a secret

at Seven Arts, Chapel Allerton, Leeds

from Sunday 3rd August (for about a month)

The second MICA Community Art Project goes live on 3rd August at Seven Arts in Chapel Allerton and this time we are inviting you to "Tell me a secret".

In todays modern world we share so much of who we’d like people to think we are, but in reality share very little of who we actually are. The incongruence of what we say and who we are can have long reaching consequences on our lives as we hold back the “real me” from the world for fear of what people might say and what they might think.

They say that a problem shared is a problem halved so if the reverse is true then we are doubling our stresses, our anxieties our paranoias every day, again and again. How different would life be if we were to let go of these secrets that we hold so close, if only for a moment? When we do let go and then look back from a distance is it anything like the secret we thought it was?

Well MICA's second Community Art project invites you to think of a secret in your life. One that is true and one that no one else knows. It might be a fear, a confession, a regret, a betrayal, a desire, a funny and embarrassing tale or anything else you can think of.

It’s up to you. Just write it down and hang it up.

Shhhhh......there's an "anonymous" box too for you to post in if you're a bit shy.

Or if you can't make it down to Seven Arts or just want to share from a safe distance the can use the comments field below

with Jayne Snell

"Out of my greatest sadness, came the clearest vision of what I wanted. But YOU do not have to wait for the 'boot up the backside', the tragedy, you can all create the life you want now"
Jayne has faced what we all fear, the fear of losing everything. She doesn't want you to wait for the 'boot up the backside' before you live the life you want. A life where you are happy today, but excited for your tomorrows. She is here to share her story, her own 'boot up the backside' and what led her to create her Parachute of Dreams.
As a Professional Inspiriational and Motivational speaker, Jayne speaks about living a life of balance. You will learn the importance of living a life you choose, one of balance, where health, relationships, careers and personal interests are all important. Regarding attitude and mind set, and the state of one's self, you will learn tips for creating a more calm and peaceful self, particularly important in today's fast world and when and when dealing with life's challenges and stresses, but also the importance of having an energised, motivated, commited self as well.
